This week included a long holiday weekend…yay! Most recently I’ve been found trying to catch up on editing or whatever is most pressing with my photography business. But I spent this past long weekend catching up on family time. And it was fantastic…all the way around.

Some of my favorite pictures from this past week (during my family time):

baby as art workshop

This week I was fortunate to travel to the San Diego area to go to a personal workshop with Baby as Art, the best of the best in newborn photography. The Baby as Art team, Carrie Sandoval and Brittany Woodall spent one full day with just my friend Kelley and me. They showed us how they work their magic with their fresh little newborn babies. They are a talented duo and I was so blessed to be a part of this day.

I can’t wait to show you some of my images from this awesome day (they’ll be on the blog soon… maybe Friday). Here’s one for now… The credit for posing this baby belongs to the Baby as Art team, I merely photographed it. Watch out upcoming little newborns. My next sessions are going to be OFF THE HOOK!!!! Yes… I am a little excited. I photographed two new babies yesterday right after learning SO much at this workshop. It was so fun. Those pics will be on the blog soon. xo!

my most difficult subjects

Yes, they are my most difficult photography subjects… my own little boys. :) Is it my own fault? Do I take too many pictures of them? Maybe. It’s possible. Who knows. Who cares. I happen to love pictures of people that I love. And so…here’s a little photo shoot of my two little men. At almost 4 and almost 6 (this summer) these are my little boys.

And how do I get them to go on a photo shoot with me? Well first of all, it’s not called a photo shoot. We go “exploring” and I take pictures while were there. This time we filled a suitcase with “treasures”.  And we definitely finish it off with Yodiggity frozen yogurt. :)

the little things…

I’m just enjoying the little things … like a beautiful afternoon at the park. :)

time with my boys…

Mother’s Day. Around our house every day is Mother’s Day. You know…full of sleeping in, peace, pedicures, patience, big breakfasts, and lots of naps. Ok, well, I’m exaggerating….quite a bit. But I do love being a mom and I do love my life with my boys.  But being a mother takes a lot of patience and much wisdom …that I often feel as though I am lacking. Fortunately, I can seek God for that wisdom and even though I’ve screwed up as a mom numerous times…..my boys are still amazing, my husband still loves me, my God is still faithful, and I still adore being a mama to my two little boys.

We had a great weekend together. They treated me especially well and yesterday we finished it off with some old school Playland time.  Here are a few pics from our time together at Playland. If you haven’t been there in a while, you should check it out. It’s old school for sure. But it’s pretty awesome.

happy birthday my sweet man

Today is my sweet hubby’s 35th birthday. He is an amazing man. Really. He’s my love and my friend. He’s my partner in life, in parenting, in business, and in everything. He’s the one person that I know I can count on, always. He’s a wonderful father to our two boys, such a fantastic example of a Godly man to them and so much fun with them. I’m grateful. For much. I’m very grateful for my husband, Phil.

some family time

Our little family of four had a wonderful day visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium. I’m lovin some family time. We had to follow that all up with some mirrored mazes (if you know my little boys, they are ALL about mazes) and some Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. So fun. Love my family.

Here are my three favorite boys under the waves…
