london & ryder

Meet little miss London and little mister Ryder. They are the sweetest. I had the privilege of taking little Ryder’s pictures a few months ago, I think he was about four months old. Now he’s a big boy sitting up and all. Big sister London is awesome at taking care of her little brother.

cousins, grandkids, buddies…

I love all these little people. These are all the little cousins on my side of the family. What a precious thing to be able to grow up playing with your cousins. They also have the best Nana in the world (my mom…she’s amazing). Nana, these pictures are for you, your grandkids in your backyard. We love you. Hope you enjoy! :)

And in case you wondered…. these kiddos were some of the most difficult to photograph. Because… there are 6 of them and because they’re my kids, nieces, and nephews and that’s just how it goes. We sweated for these, made tons of silly noises and faces, ran around, and bribed with popsicles. These images are far from perfect, but they capture life at this stage and I love that.

And the after picture, eating popsicles with Nana and Papa…

July 29, 2010 - 2:28 pm Rachel Unruh - Thank you, my dear daughter! I do love the pics and I know how immensely difficult they were to take and how many popcicles we had to use!!

friday faves (even though it’s saturday)

So here’s a delayed Friday faves, cause I couldn’t quite get my act together to have them up yesterday.
My faves from this week (and weekend so far)…

  • My biggest little boy is turning SIX this weekend, SIX! Wowza! We’ve had fun beginning to celebrate him. So grateful for the gift I have in my little boy.
  • Swimming, swimming, swimming…with friends and with my boys
  • Listening to my little boy’s knowledge about God grow from his sweet time at VBS this week. It’s incredible what he’s learning.
  • The new stickers that I made for my CD packaging came in the mail. The little things make me smile! :)

Some of my favorite pics from this week: (and a bit of a window into my world)

July 25, 2010 - 11:44 am tangie - my Jackson is studying these Lego images trying to figure out how to copy their creations... :o) he also says, "I remember that Drew!"

yesterday’s workshop

We had another little workshop where I helped some lovely people learn how to use their fancy cameras on manual…. not on auto!! YAY! During our time learning about our cameras, we do little photo shoots so we can practice what we’re learning. I’m a “do-er”. I learn SO much better if I talk about it, touch the camera, and then actually DO it. So that’s how I teach these things. Only two more workshops this summer, then no more til 2011. One is already full, but there’s still some room in the one on Wednesday, August 18th. Sign up here.

Well, these were our lovely little models. Aren’t they so precious? This is Charlotte. She’s five months old and as sweet and smiley as ever.

This is Bella. She’s the fabulous big sister at two years old.

And this is Jackson. He’s the big brother and as sweet as can be.

July 27, 2010 - 6:01 am ok, all right, another saturday workshop » Bruises and Bandaids - [...] I am loving teaching people how to use their cameras. So many people have purchased these fancy digital SLR cameras (you know the bigger cameras where you can change out the lenses) and well, they don’t know how to use all the fabulous buttons and functions on their cameras. Do you want to learn how to use your Digital SLR camera off of auto mode? How to compose a fantastic picture? How to look at light? If you’re interested, I’m doing some workshops focused on how to use your camera and it’s manual functions so that you can have more control over the images you capture. You can see some more details & pics from our last workshop here and here too. [...]

little merrill

I had the privilege of photographing this little itty bitty newborn at only 4 something pounds, and now at 6 months old, he’s adorable and full of smiles. Seriously, completely full of smiles…. way too many smiley pictures to choose from. Love it…

July 22, 2010 - 6:23 am Sandra Yovino - You have captured my Mr. Merrell. Beautiful pictures...cannot wait to see them all. Thanks for the wonderful job. And yes, he is always that happy and curious. Noni

July 22, 2010 - 8:49 pm marie ihde - he is just so cute, love him dearly! love zia nuni

ella, one month old

Ella in all her beautiful little glory. She came into my humble little studio with all her chunky rolls and did a fabulous job. Four weeks old is a tougher age to photograph. I prefer my babies freshly new at 5-10 days old. But we were up for the challenge. With the help of her mama’s fabulous milk and all our other little tricks…she slept somewhat well and photographed just beautifully. Ella, you’re stunning already…

July 23, 2010 - 12:02 am tangie - o my GOODNESS!!! love those precious rolls, and gorgeous lips!! especially love that first one... beautiful, Cori!
